about

"Song to the Moon" is a beautiful aria from Czech composer Antonin Dvorak's opera "Rusalka" written in 1901. Here it is performed incredibly by Philadelphia's well known soprano Iris Fairafax, with Greg Scott on piano and David Kraus on classical guitar.

These are works-in-progress recordings for a project taking operatic arias and placing them into a more contemporary pop/jazz setting. The Bandcamp page is just a good way to store them and share them as we proceed. This group is soprano voice (Iris Fairfax), piano (Greg Scott), and classical guitar (David Kraus.) Upright bass and percussion will be added to fill out the group and we are in rehearsal. This is the first working recording which for now has just voice, piano, and guitar. More coming as we progress. This is a long-term project.

Because at the end when the music is shared, it will be the immediacy of this feeling that the listener will experience. ... more
